Samsung may bring the Note 7 back from the dead to sell refurbished units

The Galaxy Note seven heroic tale continues as Samsung is supposedly considering swing its now-discontinued flagship telephone back on the market.

The physics behemoth might begin mercantilism refurbished units with smaller, less volatile batteries, consistent with South Korean outlet Hankyung. whereas it remains extremely unlikely the device would create a comeback to North American country and European markets following ban laws, it might retail in Asian country and Vietnam.

Earlier in January, the phone-maker free the findings from its careful internal Note seven investigation, blaming the series of explosions on 2 separate battery-related problems.

Engadget remarks the South Korean heavyweight has some a pair of.5 million Note seven handsets future when sacrificing twenty,000 to work out the reason for the matter. Refurbished units can pack batteries with a capability between three,000 and 3,200 mAh – compared to the three,500 mAh battery the primary batch arrived with.

Last month, Reuters speculated refurbished Note seven units might so be coming to market; this report simply adds additional credence to such claims.

While the report makes no mention once refurbished handsets may begin shipping, chances are high that the discharge are delayed until when Samsung unveils its approaching Galaxy S8 telephone within the returning few months.

Given that Samsung ran whole apology ads in 3 well-known newspapers within the North American country last year, the move towards mercantilism refurbished Note seven units appears like a ambiguous sword: whereas the device got stellar reviews across the media, it value the corporate millions in damages.

So don’t be too shocked if this set up ne'er pans out.
